The mobile app will switch languages when it jumps from an episode that no longer has an updated episode in your preferred language. When you try to back track or restart a previous episode it will not go back to your preferred settings and is very frustrating. It doesn't pull up the list of languages for you to switch it on the series you are watching like it does with the TV version. I have to use my TV to switch back my mobile version every time to get back to where I was originally.

The most recent update makes it so you need to choose your profile every time you open the app. Not the end of the world, I know, but it's an unnecessary extra step for my one account with just me on it. This paid app has also still not managed to give the user any way to look at their past comments (or give notifications on replies), a thing YouTube has been doing for well over a decade for free. Videos play fine, subtitles could be reviewed more critically (there are a lot of typos).

Apps on the Chromecast and Fire stick hardly work on the first try. The UI controls won't work unless you press the back button to trigger the side menu and reselect home. It's been years with different issues. Thought it would get better when they bought Funimation since that website/app design, but nope. They practically got a monopoly on anime streaming in the US and then said, "Oh, you don't like our app... well, you can go to Funimation—oh yeah, that's right, we bought them. Oops."
